One of the best-performing ASX 200 shares today was Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC), the telco's share price went up 8.1% today.
Lithium miner Orocobre Limited (ASX: ORE) saw its share price rise by 6.6% today, making it another of the top performers in the ASX 200.
Investors appear to be pleased by the latest update from Bega Cheese Ltd (ASX: BGA) regarding the bushfire effects on the milk supply. Bega's share price went up 4.2% today.
Gold miners suffered heavily today with the US and Iran stepping back from the edge of war. The Resolute Mining Limited (ASX: RSG) share price dropped 10.1% and the Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX: EVN) share price fell 6.2% after providing an operations update.
The share price of Woodside Petroleum Limited (ASX: WPL) rose almost another 1% after an approval announcement.
Finally, news of the strong retail sales growth has sent some retailers soaring. The share price of Myer Holdings Ltd (ASX: MYR) jumped over 5% today and the Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (ASX: HVN) share price rose more than 3%.
