The S&P / ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) has dropped for the sixth day in a row, losing 0.8% to close at 5,062.5. The so-called 'Santa rally' has been renamed the 'Santa slump'. Only consumer staples and the utilities sectors managed to inch into the black.

- Ramsay Health Care (ASX: RHC) added 3.6% to $40.66
- Westfield Retail Trust (ASX: WRT) gained 3.2% to $2.91
- TPG Telecom (ASX: TPM) rose 2.8% to $2.91
