If you don't already have XERO FPO NZX (ASX: XRO), Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) and Appen Ltd (ASX: APX) shares on your watchlist, you should put them on it today.

Who is Xero?

Xero is the New Zealand-based cloud accounting software provider taking on the world. Xero's software can be accessed from any device and is super-easy to use. Small and medium businesses have flocked to Xero despite competitors like MYOB Group Ltd (ASX: MYO) offering a comparable and often cheaper product.

Xero's software automates a lot of the accounting work traditionally done by bookkeepers in small businesses, putting control back in the owner's hands. While the company is investing heavily for growth outside Australia and New Zealand, the sticky nature of Xero's products means its current customers are likely to stay around for a long time.

Pro Medicus

Pro Medicus is the Melbourne-based health technology business which has developed software used by doctors and radiologists. It enables medical images like X-rays to be sent, received and interpreted by a doctor on their smartphone within seconds. Traditional systems are bulky and inefficient, making Pro Medicus' technology a superior tool for hospitals around the world.

Appen

Appen provides voice recognition and machine learning systems for big technology companies. The company stands at the bottom of the ongoing exponential surge in data usage and analysis, making it a compelling growth prospect. The small company recently announced that ongoing demand for machine learning would lead to an uptick in full-year profit.
