ALL ORDINARIES finishes lower Tuesday: 8 shares you missed

The S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) finished lower on Tuesday.

  • Gold price: down 0.9%
  • Copper: flat
  • WTI Crude Oil: down 1.2%

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX: ANZ) shares were the talk of the town today after the regional banking heavyweight reported its half-year results to the market. The ANZ share price settled 2.1% lower as investors reacted to the news. 

Also in focus were shares of Woolworths Limited (ASX: WOW), which reported a strong set of third-quarter results to the market. The Woolworths share price ended 1.2% higher.

Amongst the top movers were shares of Santos Ltd (ASX: STO) and Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (ASX: TWE), rising 2.9% and 3%, respectively.

Meanwhile, further down the market, Mayne Pharma Group Ltd (ASX: MYX) and Blackmores Limited (ASX: BKL) rallied 4.5% and 3.5%, respectively.

At the other end of the market, Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia (ASX: GMA) and Alumina Limited (ASX: AWC) were amongst the worst performers.
