S&P/ASX 200 ends Thursday higher: 11 shares that moved the market

The S&P/ASX 200 (Index:^AXJO)(ASX:XJO) ended higher on Thursday, with Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd (ASX:CCL) and South32 Ltd (ASX:S32) lifting the Aussie market.

The S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) ended higher on Thursday, with the Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd (ASX: CCL), South32 Ltd (ASX: S32) and Spark New Zealand Ltd (ASX: SPK) share prices lifting the Aussie market.

  • Iron ore: $US82.25 per tonne, according to The Metal Bulletin

Shares of Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd led the market higher despite no material news being released by the company. In the mid-cap space, shares of Worleyparsons Limited (ASX: WOR), Navitas Limited (ASX: NVT) and Beach Petroleum Ltd (ASX: BPT) were amongst the biggest gainers.

At the other end of the ASX performance tables, Fairfax Media Limited (ASX: FXJ), McMillan Shakespeare Limited (ASX: MMS) and DuluxGroup Limited (ASX: DLX) were amongst the biggest losers.

Shares of Bellamy's Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL) fell 8% after the company announced that its infant formula canning operations with Bega Cheese Ltd (ASX: BGA) would not receive Chinese regulatory approval.
