The S&P/ All Ordinaries Index (Index: ^AORD) (ASX: XAO) has added 0.2% on a fairly lacklustre trading day on the ASX, as we head into the close.

Sector performance is mixed, but energy, metals and mining and the gold sector have all been hammered down. That doesn't mean all stocks have fallen though, and several have posted gains of more than 10% today…

Here's our view on four stocks surging higher today…

ImpediMed Limited (ASX: IPD) has rocketed up more than 28% to around 50 cents. The biotech company announced today that its L-Dex product had received full reimbursement status in the US for all relevant cancer types. ImpediMed says this is a transformational event for the company, with the addressable market growing to 940,000 patients each year, worth in excess of US$350 million.

Poseidon Nickel Ltd (ASX: POS) has jumped 19% to 22 cents. Earlier today the nickel miner announced that it was buying the Lake Johnston Nickel project, which is currently on care and maintenance, but operationally ready to go. The project is estimated to contain more than 70,000 tonne of nickel resources, bringing Poseidon's total resources to more than 400,000 tonnes.

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (ASX: API) is up more than 15% to 67.5 cents, after the distributor of pharmaceuticals upgraded its underlying net profit expectations. API says its Priceline and Priceline Pharmacy had seen same store growth of 6% for the year to August 2014, and 12% growth in pharmacy distribution. API says it now expects to report a net profit of between $31 and $31.5 million for the full year – as much as a 10% increase above the previous guidance.

Clearview Wealth Ltd (ASX: CVW) is up over 7% at $1.00, continuing its rise over the past week. Shares in the wealth manager are up 30% in the last five business days, as investors continue to digest the company's positive full year results and the merger with Matrix Holdings.
